Connecting the Digital Economy
Sensors, robots, drones, big data, artificial intelligence and cloud. New technologies behind self driving cars, remote surgery and smart cities. Besides using electricity they have one more thing in common: they need to be interconnected. This interconnection has special importance in an economy where performance is determined by distributed systems interacting with one another. It’s a kind of adhesive that makes a System from distributed components. Provided this interconnection is reliable enough and fast, besides being suitable for serving millions of components. We should move beyond today's „best effort” to interconnect the digital economy of the future.

The New Era of Networking
Technology is changing everything we do: from how we run our businesses, to how we work and innovate. The constantly increasing number of devices, data and connections creates unprecendented opportunities. At the same time, the network gets under tremendous pressure and becomes more than ever critical to business success. Peter Hajdu will discuss the Network Intuitive, a secure and intelligent platform for digital businesses, designed for success in a Digital World.

Future Frequencies: The Future Impact of Artificial Intelligence
For 70 years, the world has witnessed the evolution of artificial intelligence. In recent years, we have been able to enjoy its powerful, yet rather subdued presence in our everyday lives, through the design of intelligent agents in our smart phones, purchase recommendation systems, medical detection, voice and facial recognition and so much more. However, in the past few years driven by greater computing capacity, the ability to rapidly analyze billions of data points, cloud robotics, deep learning and major investments from superstar companies such as Google and Amazon, and visionaries such as Elon Musk, we feel like we are on the threshold of a new “Cambrian explosion”. This impending revolution will redefine our concepts of intelligence, of cognitive interaction, what it means to be human, and even superhuman.

This talk will consider how artificial intelligence and its hybridization through interaction with other technologies such as robotics, IoT, nanotechnology and neuroscience will transform and optimize arenas as diverse as finance and responsive cities. It will outline the emerging toolboxes, both those with defined parameters and those that are open-ended and experimental to demonstrate how we can expand our vision and change the way we see and operate in our world. No doubt, artificial intelligence will also be disruptive. It will have a major impact on the future of work and workforces, both in terms of efficiencies, creating new job needs and a changing skill repertoire.
We hear about the ever-so-impressive results and the potential of AI every day. These aspects would have been filed under sci-fi a few years ago still. Researchers and developers keep delivering new solutions that make your head dizzy with prospects for a new future.
However, in the midst of all the enthusiasm, you should take a deep breath, step back and take a look at AI from an angle other than technological opportunities. Will you be this happy when it makes your job redundant? When machines will not only know every detail of your life but eventually will interfere in real time.
The round-table discussion, introduced to the Symposium for the first time in its history, will discuss the economic-social impacts of artificial intelligence. Moderated by Galambos Márton, journalist of Forbes magazine, the round-table of the four invited experts – Szvetelszky Zsuzsanna, Takács Árpád, Keleti Arthur and Málnay Barnabás – will discuss aspects of various market or technology news and what we can expect from AI in the future. Social questions include how people react to AI’s increasing importance in our lives and how it impacts our thinking. On the other hand, economic impacts will examine how the operation of companies - and therefore the labour market - will go through a transformation; what economic consequences our ability to view the various areas of operation in real time may have. Security is also a topic of great importance: should our mindset, the written and unwritten rules related to security change (if at all)? Last but not least, we need to take a look at the scientific background: what is the myth and what is the reality behind AI? What are more prominent, opportunities or risks?
We would also like to know the opinion of the audience during the discussion. We will put a question to the vote at the beginning of the programme and the audience can use the mobile application of the conference to cast their votes - with the option of changing it multiple times if necessary. The current result of the voting will be displayed and updated in real time to show how much and in what direction an expert’s argument changes “public opinion”.

Industry 4.0 solutions as well as the relevant problems that Industry 4.0 solves have been around for a while. The problems are similar to those that we had years ago and - let us be honest - we did have competent solutions in the pre-industry 4.0 world, too. However, there are new developments: we have new tools and new technologies that have become available for a wide range of users and the unique technologies that solve the relevant problems were given the fashionable name of “Industry 4.0”. In this presentation we will show concrete examples together with their impact and potential solutions on our new set of tools that help us to solve shopfloor level problems.

How creative sector can inspire innovative solutions on industrial problems?
Scratchfinder was made for assisting people in the production facilities to detect and register surface scratches on the vehicles’ components. It is made of a tabletop projection platform and a web-based tablet app synchronized with it. It consists of two features: first it detects a scratch by circling it with a laser pen and registers it digitally on a ‘scratch list’ with an indication of its location, coordinates and priority.  In the second phase the app enables you to project back all the errors marked in the earlier phase. Scratchfinder is a digitally enhanced version of the traditional troubleshooting processes in the assembly plants while offering a new way for information sharing.

The latest development directions of the food-chain security
As data traffic drastically increases and food production and commerce becomes globalized, the food chain has grown into a very extensive, complex network by now. The activities currently pursued by the National Food Chain Safety Office (NFCSO) used to be the responsibility of several different entities, where IT developments had been going on for 25 years. The harmonization of these systems is on the agenda of multiple major projects (e.g. INTEL), the main objective of which is to standardize data analysis and management, as well as to eliminate the safety risks associated with a complex food chain. As a result of the above efforts, a data warehouse and standard information management are being established with the goal of setting up the National Qualification System and the National Foood Chain Data Reporting Center.

GDPR thoughts through the eyes of a multinational company
“Upgrade the security in a couple of weeks?” The alignment of processes with new regulations may take several months thus many organizations would like to take swift measures that enhance the level of their compliance while ensuring suitable solutions until the expiry of the grace period provided by the relevant legislation. In the architecture layers below the applications there are so-called “quick win” solutions that significantly improve the security of sensitive data and can be implemented within weeks at low cost. Their effectiveness does not depend on the necessary modifications in other layers thus they can be implemented parallel with a running GDPR assessment.

The more efficient the state is, the happier its citizens are – AI at the service of the state
In the recent years Hungary has been suffering from the ever increasing scarcity of human resources. Also, in our fast-pacing world prompt reaction is a must both for personal matters and in business-to-customer or citizen-to-state relations. Through examples, the presentation will illustrate how the level of satisfaction of the citizens may be improved in their relations with the state, and how the state can achieve this goal through reduced resources. The examples will show how other countries use AI to improve customer administration in web-based customer points, on mobile, in telephone customer service or even in the social media.

How can a traditional large business IT system adjust to the challenges of smart technologies?
Who is going to prepare “smart” solutions for enterprises? Today, most of the “conventional” large enterprises plan to introduce some kind of “smart” product. They expect support for product development mainly from the IT area. But how can a team of professionals skilled to develop and operate robust systems optimized for conventional business render support for the development of smart products, or what is more, to lead the development of innovative products, such as smart poles, smart homes or smart networks? Where can this be positioned within a large enterprise?

Automated fleet management and big data analysis in the spirit of e-Mobility
Automated fleet management and big data analysis in the spirit of e-Mobility
Magyar Telekom’s fleet of 3200 vehicles used to be  supported by a system developed for more than eight years. By now the system has become outdated and incompliant with modern fleet management requirements therefore a modernization project was implemented to automate processes as much as possible in order to support the following main objectives:
- Process oriented solution to implement a swifter fleet management system requiring less resources and  significantly less administrative tasks. (Fleet control approach instead of fleet administration, operation.)
- Reducing the direct costs of vehicle use with innovative tools.  (Fuel consumption, repair costs, management of breakdowns.)
- Offering a safer driving experience to the employees of the company group.
- Cost and service quality control of external service partners.
- E2E IT support functions at the “Magenta Group’s” vehicle fleet.
- Use of IT functions in relation to financial and management tasks.
The presentation will introduce the SmartCar service developed jointly with T-Systems. The presentation will not only focus on functionality but also on operation modes and automation with the objective to reduce costs. The SmartCar GoLive service has not yet been implemented, however, the company group works on launching the service in the near future.
The SmartCar solution was developed within Magyar Telekom, and as a product it is suitable to manage any fleet or fleet management company. The solution includes the Connected Car functionality that might be attractive for insurance companies, too.
The presentation will show how Cisco approaches smart cities as well as implemented projects and the WIFI4EU project developed jointly with T-Systems Hungary. Also, we will present the Kinetic for Cities city automation system, as one of the Cisco Kinetic IoT solutions.

Towards 5G - Super-Agility & Hyper-Intelligence
The need for speed & mobility has been the clear and present path since the launch of GSM back in the early nineties. The wire-cutting and freeing humanity from the restrictions of the wire was a momentous societal event. Today almost all of us are able to digitally communicate whenever and wherever. With LTE today we have the speed, although more of that is always well taken, new requirements to the next generation mobile technology, 5G that is, becomes much more important than the past focus on data throughput. In fact, 5G is not only about the air interface but much wider in its technology reach, e.g., core services, fixed-mobile conversion, massive IoT scale, ultra-reliability, automation through AI, and so forth. Many of the new requirements directly come from a realization that improvements need to match business needs too, not only consumer needs. In my keynote I will discuss some of the major improvements in 5G from a Verticals perspective and for the digital transformation currently underway. I will address the value to businesses and use case examples illustrating the opportunities that lay within 5G and what can already today be done within 4G. The path towards 5G is promising super-agility and hyper-intelligence.
Today, digital transformation is no longer enough to survive. Digital transformation mainly focuses on the digitization of business activities, especially on customer experience and serving individual needs. In the course of digital redesign, we fundamentally rethink the operation of the company with the help of innovative technologies, exploring revenue sources we haven’t even thought earlier, and we bring the innovation strategy of the company to a new level. The question arises, though, how will we know, if our corporate strategy is sufficient to keep the company in the business arena in 10 years?
Open innovation is a proven framework where the objective is to enhance the organization's ability to implement product and solution ideas of consumers and partners to achieve market success. Openness is about using external intellectual capacities in the innovation process.

Within the framework of this many corporations operate their own innovation lab or initiate innovation programs.
The main question, however, is how this open innovation framework changes and what role a large corporation can play in it, or how it can operate an integrated or independent innovation lab to achieve its objective.
T-Systems sees the biggest challenge and opportunity in managing the partnership and the ecosystem where T-Systems’ innovation lab , KiBu plays a key role.

Underlying opportunities in artificial intelligence and machine vision within Industry 4.0
The explosive growth of artificial neural networks opens new areas of applying artificial intelligence. Tasks that we have so far believed could only be completed by people (experts) can now be automated quickly, easily and reliably, which leads to a transformation of the labor market similar to the industrial revolution. Those who do not invest into these new technologies and are not capable of using them confidently will soon not be able to keep pace with the ever accelerating global competition. Every company that works with large volumes of data has an interest in the use of neural networks, thus it is vital for T-systems to have such competences on board.
I wish to provide insight, understandable even for the layman, into the world of artificial intelligence and machine vision through the ongoing research and startup projects of Kitchen Budapest specifically and by demonstrating the latest AI trends in general.

The Enterprise and Fortinet – A Valued Relationship
Organizations today require a fast and secure network to be successful. Whether or not you have the right protection immediately responding to threats throughout your network can determine if your business runs smoothly or is the victim of a security breach.Fortinet is the only company with security solutions for network, endpoint, application, data center, cloud, and access designed to work together as an integrated and collaborative security fabric. This also means we are the only company that can truly provide you with a powerful, integrated end-to-end security solution across the entire attack surface. To enable an effective defense, the data and security elements across all of your various environments must be well-integrated, able to share intelligence, and visible. The Fortinet Security Fabric gives you control, integration, and easy management of security across your entire organization, from IoT to the cloud.
What can we do, when an unknown malware infects our IT system in a matter of hours or even minutes? Or when we “find” the valuable database of our company on the dark web?  How do we react, when a hacker group blackmails us to leak our data they’ve stolen, unless we pay them? Are we talking about real threats? Is it a reality in Hungary today?
We will discuss the above questions with our invited guests: Boldizsár Bencsáth (Crysyslab) from professional and analyst’s point of view, Ferenc Frész (CyberServices) from the aspect of learning and skills, and István Dani, leader of T-Systems incident management center concerning reaction and incident management.
We are in for a groundbreaking, frank and lively conversation, in which we are expecting your participation and questions, as well!
Moderator of the discussion is Arthur Keleti, IT Security Strategist of T-Systems.

Global and regional Fintech and Insurtech trends
In order to understand the operation of the FinTech world one should get to know the context of the entire financial and bank sector. For ten years now, the world’s largest industry has not yet fully recovered from the crisis, and the stock market valuation of the market players is dramatically low. Demands of the new generation and technological innovations are completely transforming the bank sector that will as a result go through digital transformation in the coming years similar to the spreading of mobile phones.   Traditional banking model of the 20th century does not seem to be sustainable in the 21st century. Currently, there are three segments competing for the “bank of the future” title.
